Stand Still on the Creek

I tend to be the type of person who wants to fit in as much fun as possible. Hurry up and have fun kind of mentality. What a wonderful reminder today to slow down, stop even, as my kayak was held up by this newly fallen tree. I considered for a time trying to scrunch underneath the log but decided instead to accept this barrier; to take it for what it was, a chance to stop and relish in the beauty that surrounded me.

“Take a moment from time to time to remember that you are alive. I know this sounds a trifle obvious, but it is amazing how little time we take to remark upon this singular and gratifying fact. By the most astounding stroke of luck an infinitesimal portion of all the matter in the universe came together to create you and for the tiniest moment in the great span of eternity you have the incomparable privilege to exist.” ~ Bill Bryson I'm a Stranger Here Myself
