Storm Blankets

Just above the beanstalks perched the cotton candy clouds- stark naked between the dark blankets

Taken looking into town, an almost perfectly straight line lay atop Chatham

Rising Moon

On my way home last night I noticed the large full moon just up over the horizon. So very large and powerful looking. It took me a good 20 minutes to get home, the whole time, watching the moon rise and seemingly shrink in size as I drove. I took my camera out to the back deck to take this first cloudless shot. I took several in order to get one semi sharp shot. Then I sat and watched as the clouds blew in and felt compelled to take the last shot here. The top shot, perhaps a preview of the moon, taken earlier that day in the backyard among the prairie plants.

Yesterday's Rain

Out my west facing window I can see approaching storm clouds, an advantage to prairie living. After this late afternoon storm filled with wonderful dark puffs, a piece of the sun appeared briefly like a wink before bed. My camera already on the tripod I snapped a couple shots.

Relaxing by the River

These photos were taken in the early morning hours. We had fog both days creating a very peaceful mood. I stood in awe of the beauty around me. I hope these photos portray the relaxation felt when taking them.
